Berry Bowl Workshops with Urban Grace Interiors & Erika M. Powell

Come join us for one of our Berry Bowl Workshops this summer, hosted by Erika Powell and Courtney Krempa of Sun Up Ceramics! 🍓☀️ We are so excited to bring creative event nights back to Urban Grace Interiors and hope you will join in the fun.

In this workshop, Courtney will teach you the basics of making a pinch pot out of clay. From there you will craft your own berry bowl to keep. This is an excellent beginner ceramics project, no experience needed. Following our session, Courtney will take care of the glazing & firing process and have your bowl ready within 2-3 weeks.

We will be offering 8 dates throughout the summer - 4 nights in June that you can sign up for today! And 4 nights in August - those dates will be released in July. Keep in mind, space is limited as we will be hosting 12 guests per workshop, so be sure to reserve your spot! Check out our website for full details.

Intro to Hand Building Coil Pottery with Courtney Krempa at MBCC

Join Courtney in this three session series to learn a ceramic technique of hand-building. Coil-building is an exciting, entry level technique to ceramics that offers endless possibilities without the dedication of hours & practice to throw on a wheel. If the wheel intimidates you, this is a great place to start!

In this class we will cover the basics of hand-building, briefly touching on other modalities as well. With Courtney's assistance and instruction you will create a vessel of your choice from start to finish, including a day of glazing.

This class includes three 2 hr sessions, two days of creating, and one day of glazing. Remember to wear comfy clothes, we will get messy.

Class dates: Mar. 13th, 14th, and 28th  *no make up classes available

Class time: 2-4 PM

Class size limit: 15

Minimum class size: 10*

If minimum class size is not met, class will be canceled and registrants refunded

Instructor Bio:

Courtney is a mother and artist native to the Emerald Coast. She is a mostly self taught ceramicist who began working with clay in 2013. First introduced in a college course, she quickly fell in love and has continued practicing since. From 2016-2019 she worked with clay in her spare time at the Arts & Design Society, in Fort Walton Beach, FL. In 2019-2020 she began a mentorship with local artist & ceramicist, Mercedes Rogers. Here she learned the ins & outs of working with clay for a living and running a home studio. She has been creating out of her own home studio since. She has a passion for wheel throwing and hand building to create functional ware.
