About Courtney, Owner of Sun Up Ceramics

Sun up ceramics is created and owned by Courtney Krempa. She is a mother and artist native to the emerald coast. She was first introduced to ceramics in a college course in 2013. She quickly fell in love and has continued to work with clay since. In 2015 she joined the Arts and Design Society, attending every open studio class she could in her spare time. After moving and having her daughter she began a short mentorship with local artist, Mercedes Rogers. Here she learned the ins and outs of clay, wheel throwing, glazing, firing, and managing a home studio. She has since set up her own studio in her garage, where she now spends the majority of her time creating. She is also now an instructor at the Cultural Arts Alliance, where she often teaches wheel & hand-building classes. Teaching & sharing her love for ceramics is a passion of hers.
